In preparation for the BBC America premiere of the new season of Dr. Who (9pm EST, Saturday, April 23rd), I have been doing what many Whovians over the age of twenty-one have been doing: scouring the internet for an awesome drinking game to play as we celebrate the return of everyone’s favorite floppy haired, bow-tied Gallifreyan.
In honor of the premiere of the HBO Series “Game of Thrones,” some awesome friends of mine threw a “Winterfell” themed dinner party last night, and it rocked so hard that I wanted to pass along some ideas on how you too can eat like a Stark.
This cake is the ideal way to tell someone, ‘Good luck as you make your way across the universe!’
So apparently The Doctor, Amy & Rory will be in New York City this Friday! Actors Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill will be on hand to sign the Doctor Who: The Complete Fifth Series DVD boxed set. Friday April 08, 2011 12:00 PM.
As a self identified geek girl for most of my life, I often feel like I am carrying around a shameful, dark secret that sometimes keeps me from fully embracing the geek community: I suck at technology.
This is not a story about the new Dr. Horrible Book that came out yesterday and that reveals such tantalizing tidbits as the fact that the costume designer did not realize that Bad Horse was an actual horse and so designed a samurai costume for him. This is instead a story of Bad Horse… the pizza parlor.
One pet peeve of mine is the tendency of the world to infantilize, marginalize and denigrate women by calling them ‘girls.’ So, it was initially surprising and actually a bit upsetting to me that this new movement of geek ladies were self-selecting the moniker ‘girls.’
